In an effort to provide a service for all taxpayers who are having difficulties with the IRS, we have put together a number of resources that you, the taxpayer, can use to get moving in the right direction. We recommend several inexpensive books which do a good job of explaining your rights and options in plain English. We also have links to a number of forms, tax tips and other sites which have been useful to us and to many of our clients. Please use the links to the left and give us some feedback if you can or cannot find what you are looking for. The best place to get information directly from the IRS about your individual situation is to call the IRS customer service line at (800) 829-1040 or to visit their web-site at www.irs.gov
Why We Created this Page
Unfortunately for many people with IRS tax problems it is extremely difficult to find help. Dealing with the IRS can be extremely time consuming and frustrating. As a Professional Tax Firm who deals exclusively with people who owe taxes to the IRS we are contacted every day by people who need help in one way or another with IRS problems. In many cases, especially for people with debts under $7500, it is difficult to find a way to help for a reasonable fee considering the amount of time it takes to get anything done when dealing with taxes and the IRS.
For example: If someone contacts us who has been wrongly assessed $200 in penalties from the IRS due to some type of mistake, there is good news and bad news. The good news is that there is a way to get the IRS to cancel out the penalties, the bad news is that in order for us to get the penalties removed it would take us a few hours to review the case, write the penalty abatement request and contact the IRS if necessary. Unfortunately, this is not a service that we can provide for less than the $200 the taxpayer is trying to save from the IRS. Therefore, either way the innocent taxpayer is out at least $200 and no one really benefits.
We know that to most people $200 is a lot of money to have to lose because of a mistake on the part of the IRS. Therefore we have created this section to pass along some of our knowledge as well as recommend some good books and some helpful links in an effort to point people in the right direction to solve their tax problems on their own without the expense of having to hire a professional.
If you are unable to find the answer to your question here or want to let us know about anything that you found that was particularly useful, please send us your feedback . We will do our best to update this page frequently.
